This July we invite you to join us for series of events in our lovely studio in the Markets Area in Dublin.
Sunday 22nd July, 3pm – 4.30pm – Katie Treggiden, design writer and author explores the growing phenomenon of the urban potter, based on her recent book Urban Potters: Makers in the City.
There'll be an introduction by Laura Magahy, Arran Street East Founder and Creative Director.
Katie Treggiden is a design writer with more than 15 years experience in the creative industries. She regularly contributes to publications such as the Guardian, Crafts Magazine, Elle Decoration, Design Milk and Monocle24. She has written three books and launched an award-winning design blog and print magazine. Her latest book, Urban Potters, was published in September 2017. www.katietreggiden.com.
Laura Magahy is an honorary member of the RIAI and previous Chairman of the Design and Craft Council of Ireland, and executive chairman of Irish Design 2015. She is also a Founder and Managing Director of M.CO, a design and project management company, which she’s been successfully running for the last 25 years. For 20 years, Laura has been involved in the architecture and design sector in Ireland, overseeing the development of some of the most culturally important developments of the past few years. This experience at the cutting edge of architectural development has helped to inform the Arran Street East aesthetic. Originally a student of music, Laura studied textile screen-printing in Dublin’s National College of Art and Design and pottery with Pat Conroy in Schull, West Cork.
