The Week Long Workshop
The Week Long Workshop
On this 5-morning course, our Arran Street East potters will take a small group through the fundamental skills of throwing (working on a potter's wheel to shape the clay), and handbuilding (shaping the clay using simple tools and your hands).
Over the 5 sessions you'll learn about materials and processes, and work with your hands putting knowledge into practice, culminating in the production of your own two mugs.
You'll look at preparing the clay, making the mug shape, designing the surface, and making handles, and you will have some time for experimentation in the studio too.
The course takes place from 9:30am to 12:30pm, in our lovely Arran Street East studio opposite the Dublin Fruit and Vegetable Market, on three dates through 2017:
- April 10th to 14th
- June 12th to 16th
- August 14th to 18th
Your handiwork will be fired and ready for collection or shipping to you 12 days after the course ends.
